For the Friends of geography, Archeology, History and Science,
Dear Vasant Dave,
Traditional Ship building business is in MANDVI where ancesters of kharava
family build SHIP VIJADI which capcised in arabian sea long time ago. which
killed few hundreds of travellers at that time. Mr Dilip vaidya, Ex curator of
KUTCH MUSEUM has asked me to search and provide information avilable for
suplimenting his writing. But That's Only a TRADITIONAL ship building and not
the actual Harappan Ship building any way.
Recently decendents of those family rebuilt the model of that capcised ship
VIJADI in MANDVI and news was published. But that nothing to do with Harrapan
ship building. and what you are looking for.
Many Historians say story of Ship wrackages and an anker of Ship on hilly
mountain area of VARAR hills of KUTCh. when there was a water way at that time.
BUT every one just telling the story but no evidences nor a single picture.
Norway museum does hold a clue of 2000 years old viking ship and mummy arrived
from India which was geneticaly proven to be from Indo saraswati region.

Dear Dr. Bhudia,
Thank you for your e-mail of 23 February, 2009.
I came across one of your posts in Yahoo Groups while searching the Internet on
the subject. I plan to visit Kutch again in August or September, and I shall
contact you then. Do you know of any person in Kutch whom I could meet to
understand better the ship construction of the type that the Harappans did?
With regards,
Vasant Dave
