Well, usual emails are written in text-format.
The email with the picture is in HTML-format
and in order to compose it I used outlook express,
but I am sure there is other software to do the job.
When writing the mail in outlook express 6, verify
that under menu "Format" the item "Rich Text (HTML)"
is selected. Under menu "Insert" you then can select
a picture of your choice to be inserted into the mail.
We are lucky that pictures are not removed by the
group distribution procedure, otherwise it would not work.
For example I can't do this in yahoo group "Chessimprovement".
Ask the group owner why it's forbidden there.
By the way, to generate the board picture I used the
freeware EPD2diag (download at http://www.rebel.nl/epd2diag.htm)
The result picture has a size of only 8 KB which is not too big.

You are not alone. I too am fed up of this spam. As a temporary solution you can block this particular ID as spam, as most of the spam is coming from just one ID.
Moderators, please remove the IDs sending such spam from the group.
