Hello Donors, Members and Well wishers,
Happy to share with u that selection process is on for selecting
candidates for the ensuing (XII) Batch which we propose to commence
from 2nd Jul.07.U r also aware that 'Unnati' in order to scale up
the operations and proviode better infrastructure to the programme
has started constructing our own 'UNNATI' centre at NGEF Lyaout.
This is a 20000 odd Sq, Ft built up area with all necessary
facilities. The structure is complete and finishing is taken up.
But we r afraid that the completion might be delayed due to paucity
of funds as there has been cost excalation. We plan to move to the
new premises atleast by Nov.07 when we start our 13th Batch ( the
one after the ensuing batch)

I would therefore appeal to each one of you to come up with sizeable
monetary contribution as u have done hitherto (and thru ur frinds
and acquintances) so that our dream of providing better infrastrucute
and also scaling up the operations do not become a futile attempt.

I am sure u all will double your efforts towards this.

I am slo attaching the'Music concert' programme to be held at
Odukathoor Madam, (Opp Ulsoor lake) from 18th Aug. for ur
information and attendance.
thanks and rgds,
rameshswamy

dear Mr.Sunder,

TV9 crew members visited 'unnati' a few days ago to cover our activities and telecast the same.  The telecast was orginally planned to be at 1.30 p.m on 21st Jun 07 ( u could not have missed it as it is yet to be telecast).  However I just came to know that the telecast has been postponed to Monday, 25th Jun. at 1.30 p.m.

Hello Donors, Members and Wellwishers,

Yes, it has been quite a while I wrote to u. Ofcourse a lot of
things have happened during the intervening days. The 11th Batch
of students numbering 25 has rolled out. All have been placed in
companies such as FoodWorld, FabMal, Café-Coffee-Day,
Dusters, Panasonic Sales and Service, and ITC. We are happy to
share with u that we have started a 3rd Vocation `Care Takers for
Service Apts'. We trained three students to begin with. They
learnt `hands on' in a guest house `Athiti' and a Catering
Place `Moulis Catering'. All the three have been placed. The
success of this new vocation has spurred us to not only continue all
the three vocations, but made us think about starting a few more
vocations that are suitable and job oriented to to-days' needs. –
ofcourse after we shift to our new infrastructure which is coming
up at NGEF Layout.

We had also taken the students of `Retail Sales' for a visit to
Pantaloon's `Brand Factory' (where five of our earlier Batch
students are working as sales personnel) to show them the work
environment/culture etc. The visit , we thought, would make them
acquire better work habits when they take up jobs in similar
outlets.

As usual we have started the necessary preparations for starting our
next Batch. We are in touch with some NGOs who normally identify
candidates for the course. But this itself may not be sufficient.
So kindly help us in continuing the project by identifying deserving
poor candidates for the course. You may direct them to `Unnati'
office to obtain applications and other details.

Last but not the least. Two of our students of `Retail Sales' from
our I Batch who were placed in FoodWorld, 100 ft. Road, Indiranagar
in Jan.04, have secured their promotions as `Asst. Managers'. This
proves that if candidates have focus and continue in the same job,
their performance and work are bound to be rewarded. `Unnati'
salutes their discipline and work ethics!!!

We will be in touch with u to update our activities.

With best wishes,
Ranga

With best wishes,
Ranga

Hello Donors, members and wellwishers,

A couple of days back I happened to visit `Food world` at CMH Road
where I had taken the students for a visit. A familiar voice greeted
me. She was Bhupathi, a student of Retail Sales and Marketing of
6th Batch. She was placed as a sales asst. in Food World soonafter
her training in Sept. 2005. Today she is a a supervior!! Her
salary has also doubled ( to Rs.4500/- p.m.). Two days after this
visit, I went to Food world Cambridge Road where another student
Mr.LachuSahu of 6th Batch billed my products. He happily informed me
that he was under training for the post of supervisor and in a month
or so he would start functioning as supervisor. We at `unnati' feel
that these are but 2 small examples of how we can change the lives
of the underprivileged.
Many students of 10th Batch who were placed in Brand factory visited
us with sweets to say that they have received their first salary of
Rs.4000/- and added that they were liking their jobs and were
determined to progress!.

I thought I should share this with you all.

I hope to be back again with some more success stories of our
students.

Thanks and rgds,
Ranga

Dear Mr Ranga

it is very satisfying to hear your accounts of the succeeeful past stduents
of UNNATI.

I would suggest an enumeration of such instances - names and placement
locations with current salaries and job satisfaction for them - be included
in the brochure on UNNATI. Maybe it would also be possible to get some
letters of appreciation from one or two of the employers.

regards

Parthasarathy

Hi everybody,

Yes! The eleventh batch of vocational training is off to good start
from 01-03-2007. We have 17 students ( 9 boys and 8 girls) in Retail
Sales/Mktg, 6 students (1 boy and 5 girls) in Tailoring . We also
feel happy to inform you that we have started a new vocation "Care
takers ` for service apartments and have inducted 4 students in this
stream.

Oflate there has been good demand for our vocational training from
rural centres such as H.D.Kote ( Mysore Dist) and Koppal (Koppal
Dist.). we train underprivileged candidates from rural areas too
even if they do not have the requisite min. educational
qualifications (like SSLC etc), so that after the completion of
training we are able to place them on jobs in garment industries on a
decent salary to start with. We once again appeal to all of you to
identify more people for our training so that our mission of
affording training free of cost to the underprivileged benefits
maximum number.

At the cost of repetition We may again appeal to all of you to go
allout to collect funds to `UNNATI' towards our building project
which is coming up fast and we are very hopeful to move there as
early as possible.

With `Ugadi' (New year)greetings,
Ranga

Hello Donors, Members and Well wishers,

Please take out five minutes of your precious time to go through this mail - Thank you!

It has been a while since I wrote to you all. It is the success story of `UNNATI' which has prompted me to send this note.

Everyone of us need to feel proud of `UNNATI's achievements.

The 10th Batch passed out last week with 26 underprivileged youth and as in the past, all of them have been placed.

The difference this time has been the starting salaries which was over Rs.3500/- in most cases and in some over Rs.4500/-. This is a significant change for these families whose income has been around Rs.20,000/- per annum. The companies which are approaching us for selecting our students at our own venue are :

Pantaloon, Birla, Café Coffee Day, Gokaldas Images, Levi's etc.

We have successfully established our brand equity - `UNNATI' in our 3 1/2 years through over 235 youth passing out.

Most of you are aware of our big expansion plans. We are talking of increasing the number of vocations from 2 presently to 7 with an annual turnout of 300 youth.

The building structure at our site in NGEF layout is almost ready (70 %). The total cost including interiors is estimated to be around Rs. 2.5 crores. We have spent around Rs.80 lakhs as on date. We have with us another Rs.70 lakhs. We still will require another Rs. 1 crore.

Of course, it will be a very modern centre and will benefit the underprivileged by changing their economic and social status. You might have read about the success stories of many of our students. Some of them are earning over Rs.8,000/- today.

We will give adequate recognition to donors for donating above Rs.20,000/- for the building fund.

You are also aware that we are among the few organisations in the country having 35 AC certification which means that your donations get 100 % tax exemption.

You might be doing some tax planning as we are nearing March. You could actually be a winner two times : a) creating a structure for posterity to help the underprivileged youth;

b) save on tax too, which for many is incidental.

For clarifications or more details, you could contact me at reachvalli@...

or Mobile : 98440 - 85864 / Landline : 080- 25301284

Thank you once again for your time and continuous patronage.

Regards,

Ramesh Swamy

Hello,

I am writing to inform you of a very unique and exquisite coffee
table book about Carnatic (South Indian classical) Music. Much work
has been put into this first-of-its-kind book by two very prominant
contemporary musicians and has a very unique way presenting its
contents, which include many rare photographs and other memorabilia.
Please have a look at the flyer below and the attached article for
details. I trust that this will be a lovely addition to your own
collection and can make a wonderful gift to a loved one.

dear donors, members and well wishers,
the X batch is drawing to a close and we are planning to conclude the
session by 20th of january. placement of the students is also being
simultaneously taken care of, so that all the students start going to
work from 22nd january.
we had convened a counselling session of students' parents/ guardians
on 4th januray 2007 and it was well attended. the parents/ guardians
spoke about the mental developments of their wards after joining
UNNATI.
an article was published in deccan herald dated 02-01-07 about
UNNATI's role in shaping the future of underpriviledged youth. the
link to the same has been posted along with a photo of the counselling
session.
as usual i appeal to all of you to indentify deserving candidates for
the ensuing batch (XI), the process of selection for which will begin
by february.
regards

Dear Sri Ranga,

It is a matter of great delight and satisfaction to see the 'fruits' of
efforts in Unnati, that too in such a short time. Not just that alone, what
takes minimum one or two years for even the highest management
institutions is achieved (commensurate to the capabilities of the students)
in such a short cycle of internship.

I salute the ability of the students over their absorption, despite their
absolute lack of opportunities and exposures. Each and every student of
Unnati getting their life style changed with a bettered quality life is
the singular stimulant. This also acts as a kind reminder that we all need
to do this with greater passion and dedication. In such an effort, I see
you and people like Ramesh Swamy to be the torch-bearers of this cause and
also as a source of inspiration to many.

Wish you and Unnati a memorable 2007 with more glorious achievements
awaiting.

Yours sincerely,

S Venkatesh

Dear Donors, Members and well wishers,

I am happy to write to you on the eve of the NEW YEAR 2007 which is
just a few hours away. I must say that the year 2006 has been
wonderful in as much as `UNNATI' continued its good work of
imparting vocational training to the underprivileged and placing
them in good jobs, thus empowering them. During 2006, 58 candidates
in all received training at `UNNATI' and got employed, out of whom
41 belonged to retail sales & mktg and 17 belonged to the Tailoring
stream.

We are in touch with many of our old students who either call us or
share their experiences with us, in person. It is gratifying to note
that one of our students has achieved the distinction of having
been selected and posted as `Manager in Café-Coffee-Day' after
putting in just 20 months of service . There have been other
success stories too. The success of `UNNATI' students makes us
believe that it is indeed the want of opportunites to these
otherwise capable boys and girls that make them waste their energy
in underpaid/underutilized jobs or even unemployment. This gives us
further fillip to carry on our mission with greater zeal and vigour
for which you all have been a source of strength to `UNNATI'' – be
it by volunteering to teach, or generously contributing materials
(such as fabric, threads, biscuits, tea powder etc) and/or generously
contributing to the kitty of `UNNATI'. The NEW YEAR should also
see us move to our own CAMPUS at NGEF Layout where the construction
work is in full swing.. `UNNATI' exhorts all members, donors and
well wishers to continue their efforts in strengthening the hands
of `UNNATI' by doubling our efforts in collecting donations from our
friends/relatives and others so that the construction work is not
impeded for want of funds.

`UNNATI' wishes all its donors, members and well wishers a very
happy, peaceful ,prosperous and productive NEW YEAR 2007. Let THE
NEW YEAR usher fresh energy in all of us to work towards the
amelioration of the downtrodden and the underprivileged.

regards

RANGA

Dear Sri Ranga and all Friends associated with Unnati,

With these significant achievements, we can justifiably feel proud to have
taught 'fishing' through Unnati which is greater than giving 'fish'.
To inspire other (especially current) students of Unnati, we must
encourage such successful Alumnis to periodically share their experiences.

Rgds Venkatesh
