We hope to build a new home soon and are wondering about garage
placement. We live in northern USA, where it is very cold and snowy in
the winter, very different from India where Vastu was created. (And,
there were no cars then, anyway.) Here, if you don't attach your
garage to your house, it is a hardship in winter.
Some Vastu teachers say it's OK to attach the garage, or even put
it underneath the house. Others say absolutely not. Also, they
differ in the direction where one should put the garage.
What we want to build will contain not just the car, but also wood
for heating our home. I would like to have a little door that opens
between the garage and the house, through which we can put wood that
has been stored dry in the garage. There would be a storage cupboard
for it in the house at that spot. This would make life a lot easier.
How about putting such a garage on the NW of the house, with one
common wall?
Thank you,
