Your home is called Vastu Friendly , if it complies the following
basic vastu principles. Or else you need vastu rectifications.
Basic vaastu guidelines are given below which are based on
ancient texts.
1. Your property should be rectangular or square in shape.
Avoid property with any major corner extentions & corner cuts.
2. It is auspicious to have more open space in the east or
north of the house or plot. The plot or house having road on the
east-north directions is better place for prosperity.
3. According to Vaastu, the most favourable and beneficial
main entrances in the house or business premises are those in the
North East, East or North direction. The suns rays, being a rich
source of vitamin D are vital for the sustenance of life on earth;
and the rays early in the morning from the east emitting more light
and less heat are the best. Doors and windows in the east would
allow the suns ultra violet rays to penetrate into the house,
bestowing their benefits to the inmates of the house.
4. Prayer room should be ideally located in the north east
corner of the house. The lamp should be in the south east & water
should be palced in the north east side of the temple. Remove
broken statues & spoiled pictures from the prayer area.
5. Living room along with dining room should be ideally
located in the North, East, or North East of the house.
6. Food provides life line energy & hence location of
kitchen should be at proper place. The best place for kitchen is
South east followed by North West. Research on kitchen at south east
shows that occupant of such house are prosperious. Avoid kitchen in
the south west corner. Health of female members becomes the first
victim of kitchen in Southwest. It could lead to surgery and other
serious health complications in the absence of other favorable
placements.
7. The master bedroom should be in Southwest corner to enable
the head of the family to guide the family's fortunes wisely.
8. Bath Room should be located in the North west or west
region.
9. Over head water tanks can be made on the roof in the south-
west direction. Underground water tank are beneficial in the north-
east direction .
10. The Images or stautes in the house are very much
important. Pictures depicting war scenes or painting of sorrow,
struggle, violence , tragedy and of calamities has no place in the
house or office.
11. It is said that a storeroom in the Northwest corner leads
to abundant supply of essential commodities.
12. Central area which is called brahmasthanshould not be
loaded heavily. It should be free fromany kind of obstructions like
pillars, staircase, wall etc.
13. Study room should be located in the East, North east or
East of the house. Student should face east or north while studying.
Use of vibrant colour like yellow, blue, orange , violet should be
used more in such rooms. Student can not concentrate in the study
room located at the south-west or south room.
14. The width and height of a building should not exceed 1:2
ratio to draw maximum benefits from the site.
15. If you need to build extra floor or loft , it is advisable
to make it in the Southwest or West area. This will acts as a shock
absorber during hard times and protects the sources of income. It is
a morale booster to inspire people to get going when things are
tough. More weight and height on the Southwest are like solid
foundation for good health & prosperity.
16. Photographs of the dead/ancestors should be placed in the
south west corner. Avoid them in the prayer room and bed room.
