I have 2 questions. One is I want to put a ig mirror on the S-SW wall
of my living room as the mirror will reflect beautiful river view from
the windows in NE. From vastu point is it of to do this . There is a
mirror on the N_NW wall too.

Second question is that my apartment has main door towards the S of
SW(the main bld door is also in the same direction). This I believe is
not good. As I cant change anything in the outside of my apt, is there
anything that I can do inside to cure this problem?

Fire- Important element of Vastu


Agni (Fire)
Sun is the most vital source of energy and light. It is the soul of
the universe. Formation of day and night, charge in seasons is
brought about by the movement of Sun in relation to the movement of
earth. Fire element is related to our sense of sound, touch and
sight. It is difficult to imagine life on earth without Sun.

The Sun's rays can be split into 7 plus 2 colours. Beginning from
the very beneficial ultra-violet rays in the Eastern side
corresponding to North-East, the Sun's rays further split into
violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red (VIBGYOR) and
intra-red in South-East.

Direction that lies midway between the east and the south is known
as Agneya (south-east). Agni (fire) is the lord of this direction.
He is the preserver and defender of every being. Agni also carries
the message of people who worship and offer oblations with devotion
to God.

Worshippers of Agni are economically strong and long living. Agni
himself takes care of the people who make offerings into him. Agni
also provides them with comfort, peace, prosperity and progeny.

While constructing a house, the first pillar must be erected in the
south-east direction. Alternatively, kitchen of the house should
occupy a place in this direction. This is the foremost and an
important rule of VAASTU Shastra. First day of every month also
represents the element fire.

A warm Agneya direction makes a man healthy, whereas a faulty use
makes the owner short tempered.

Important Points About Fire Placement

  Fire in the Southeast or Northwest

The southeast is the home of the fire element and the northwest is
the home of the air element.  Because of the interconnectedness of
these two elements, fire features should only be placed in the
southeast or northwest of any room, building or property.  This
includes kitchens, stoves, fireplaces, open flames and outdoor
cooking features.

Fire in the Northeast or Southwest

A fire feature should not be situated in the southwest or northeast
quadrant of a property, building or room.  A kitchen or fireplace,
for example, in the southwest brings conflicts and arguments.  A
kitchen or fireplace in the northeast will cause whatever money you
make to `burn up' and go away.  It also brings health problems,
conflicts and arguments.

If you have no fire at south east, simply place an fire pyramid made
of crystals at Southeast corner of house to activate agni element.

Computers - the monitor and tower of a computer emit a lot of EMF
energy - the rear of a monitor actually emits far greater EMF's than
the front, so be aware and try not to direct the rear of the monitor
at another person. - Live plants soak up some of this negative
energy, so try to have one close to your computer (peace

Layout of the shop should fulfill the basic requirement of vastu. It
is better if it is square or rectangular shape. Main door location
is also important. Proper placement & balance of 5 elements i.e. Fire
(electircity) water(drinking water), earth(master place), Vayu(air
movement) and the centre(avakash) . If these elements are well
managed than shop will bring you a prosperity.

gandharva and gruhak shata pada at south . There are the most

Prayer or Pooja room – Vastu blessing
One of the important  area in any home is a zone of tranquility, a
prayer or meditation area. According to vastu, North east corner
zone is best suitable for  the prayer room or home temple. This is a

Best time for prayer can be at every early morning or evening , a
thank you for a good day, for warmth of the sun, for love of friends
who support and assist us even on our bad or difficult days.
This is a space where human-made problems are left behind like a wet
umbrella at the door.
If you do not have the space to allocate an entire room for pooja,
you can set up a small temple on the east wall of North-east zone of
the house.
Important things about prayer room:-

1. Deity or image of god should positioned in such a way that
you face east while praying the god. West is the second best
location.
2. Place water in the copper pot at north east direction of the
prayer zone. Change this water daily.
3. Light or diya can  be placed in the south east corner.
4. Photographs (pictures) of the dead/ancestors  should not be
kept in the prayer room.
5. Keep this room neat, clean and clutter free.
6. This room should be strictly used for prayer and meditation.
7. Due to shortage of space, some house have small wall temple
kept in bed room or kitchen.  Small curtain should be placed in
front of it when not in use.
8. Temple should not share the wall of toilet of the house.
9. Female member should avoid using prayer room during
mentstrual period.

Dear Club Members,

Thank you very much for allowing me to join the club. I do have much effinity towards Vaastu Shastra.

Very recently we purchased a portion adjascent to ours in our joint familys house. Its my Grands Pas property. My father being the eldest should be awarded with the West side portion, but due to politics he got the second from west side. The second son got the first portion. My father left this house and went into his own house due to other reasons, After my marriage I joined into this second portion. Recently we got a chance to buy the first portion. I being the eldest for my father had belief that its good for me / us.

This house has 'Veedhi Potu' on 'Paschima Vayuvyam'. This comes straight to he verandah.

On first hand tell me to what extent this will help me. I can give what ever the details you need.

thanks for your query. for married couple best location is at south
west. This will give them more strength in relationship, career as
well as health. When person is looking for  partner we suggest north
west but for married it is always recommended at south west.

Hello Nitinn parmar,
In all of the vastu books and information that I have read, it is
stated that the southwest area of the home is best for Master Bedroom.
The northwest area as you say here, is this only for a single person
looking for marriage? Could you be more clear regarding the placement
of bedroom for a married couple, who are also the masters of the
home, wishing to improve their love relationship.?
