Yes, this is the way it should happen. Once the grid was created it will
always appear as horizontal rows and vertical columns.

Thanks for your speedy response to my need. As you suggested, I also
import a basemap (bitmap) and georeference it, then I rotate and resize
the model domain as I think appropraite. However, when the final model
region is created, the grid is still vertical, only my map changes
orientation (e.g. from being vertical to horizontal). Is this normal or
I am doing something wrong? Your help is greatly appreciated.
