Hi Kaustubh,
I checked up in Laxmikant's Jaimala Gold and found that Laxmikant &
Pyarelal were "bachpan ke saathi". Dont know why Pyarelal said that
they met for the first time in the recording studio. May be he meant
to say that it was their first recording. Here is the clip of
Laxmikant's Jaimala Gold.
"Pyare fauji bhaiyon, bahut bahut namaskaar meri or se aur Pyarelal
ki or se bhi. Hum dono bachpan ke saathi hain aur aaj vividh bharati
ke studio mein bhi saath hain. Bolne ka zimma bhale hi mere upar hai
par main bhi sirf bolne to naheen aaya hoon na. To aayiye geeton ka
silsila shuru karen."
Kaustubh, thanks for finding out the error.
Bye
Sujoy

violinist. I was 12, and Laxmi was my boyhood friend (he was 15). We
were doing the rounds of the studios as musicians and fooling around
(he played the mandolin), and it was he who had this dream that we
would make it big as a team one day in Hindi movies - so on that
hunch I stayed back."
